Fylde Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 296

Installation meeting Thursday 23rd November 2023 at the Masonic Hall, Adelaide Street, Blackpool.
The RWPGM was in attendance representing himself at his own Lodge meeting!
He was accompanied the Deputy PGM and a number of Grand Officers, plus Provincial Officers including WBro. Mark Barton the Provincial Grand SW.
WBro. James Rashid PrADC was also in attendance to look after the RWPGM et al for the evening.
The WM WBro. Colin Goodwin opened the meeting and worked through the business, which included a dispensation for the incoming Master to occupy two Lodge chairs, up to the installation of the new Master.
The WM then installed WBro. Mark Brown in a sincere manner.
  • WBro. Craig Scott presented the keystone jewel to the new WM and accompanied it with an excellent address.
  • WBro. Ray Lamb addressed the Master in a sincere manner.
  • WBro. Mark Barton gave the address to the Wardens.
  • WBro. Tony Cross gave the address to the Overseers.
  • The RWPGM gave the address to the Brethren.
The WM appointed and invested his officers for the ensuing year in an efficient manner with the help of WBro. Atcheson the Lodge DC.
The IPM presented the RWPGM with a number of cheques for charity totaling a magnificent sum of £1100!
The DPGM presented a Grand Lodge certificate with his usual panache to Bro Dominic Earnshaw. Bro Earnshaw’s grandfather had earlier been installed as SW of the Lodge for the coming year.
All the business being completed, the WM closed the Lodge and the members, Masters in Office, visitors and guests all retired to the bar and onto the festive board, where an excellent meal, accompanied by a very lively atmosphere and good craic, was had by all.
WBro. Peter Green, the Yorkshire version of Robin Hood, ensured that the charities were well supported on the night and the Lodge collection plus the raffle raised upwards of £350 pounds!
The RWPGM in his response to the toast to his health, outlined the need for recruitment into the Mark degree and also how important it is to support the Craft as ultimately that is where Mark Masons start their journey to the Magic of the Mark and Royal Ark Mariners.
At the end of the evening the WM presented the RWPGM with some flowers and a light blue colored bottle and thanked him for his attendance.

A good night was definitely had by all!
